The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

May 22

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Melissa Norris, 44, of Hillsboro, was cited for speed.

Courtney Case, 22, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

ACCIDENT

At 7:55 p.m. the police department responded to the 1200 block of North High Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon investigation, a Hillsboro juvenile was traveling southbound on North High Street while Betty Price of Hillsboro was stopped in traffic in her vehicle ahead of the juvenile’s vehicle. The juvenile was unable to stop, striking the Price vehicle in a rear section. No injuries were reported on scene. The juvenile was cited for assured clear distance.

INCIDENT

At 1:37 a.m. the police department responded to a business in the 100 block of East Main Street for a report of a fight. After further investigation, Thomas Robinson, 37, of Hillsboro, was arrested and transported to the Highland County Jail on assault charges.

May 24

ACCIDENT

At 2:33 p.m., the police department received a report of a one-car crash on Greenfield Pike near North East Street. Upon investigation, Meranda Boris, of Hillsboro, was traveling westbound on SR 138 coming into town. When she was coming out of the curve when she slid out of control, causing her to go off the roadway, roll once, and come to rest on all four wheels. Boris was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

May 25

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

James M. Jones, 33, of Portsmouth, was arrested on a bench warrant.

ACCIDENTS

At 5:49 p.m., the police department received a call of a vehicle striking a light pole in the 500 block of U.S. Route 62. Upon arrival, it was determined that Wendy Richmond, of Hillsboro, was traveling northwest through a parking lot when due to heavy rainfall and low visibility, she struck a light post causing visible damage. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. No visible damage was done to the light post. No injuries were reported on scene.
