Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

June 4

INCIDENT

At 10:03 p.m., the police department received a call of a possible drunk driver traveling south on U.S. Route 62 heading toward the city of Hillsboro. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. Marijuana and drug abuse instruments were located inside the vehicle. Elizabeth Pemberton, 38, of Washington C.H., was arrested and transported to the Highland County Jail.

June 5

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Jacob Williamson, 24, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant.

James Purdin, 47, of Greenfield, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Charles G. Johnson, 55, of Hillsboro, was cited for speed.

INCIDENT

At 7:03 p.m., the police department and life squad was dispatched to the 300 block of John Street for a male subject who overdosed. The male was qualified for the House Bill 110 and was served the HB110 form at the hospital once he was alert.

ACCIDENT

At 5:04 p.m., the police department responded to the 600 block of North High Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival it was determined that Daryl Fouch, 73, of Leesburg, was traveling northbound on North High Street in the 600 block looking for an address to pull in to when he realized he passed the residence while approaching Somers Street. When he realized he passed the residence, he turned his left turn signal on and made a left turn onto Somers Street, but was struck in the driver’s door by William Engle, 28, of Hillsboro, who was traveling behind him. Engle advised officers that Fouch was driving on the right side of the lane at the curb and traveling slow when he went to pass him and Fouch made a left turn fast and turned in to his vehicle causing him to cross the southbound lane and also strike a street sign. No injuries were reported on the scene. Engle was cited for improper passing.

June 7

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Larry Ruffner, 44, of Wilmington, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Kevin Morris, 40, of Hillsboro, was arrested for domestic violence.

Rachel Long, 36, of Wilmington, was arrested on a bench warrant and cited for driving under suspension

INCIDENT

At 8:50 a.m., the police department responded to the 200 block of East Main Street to investigate a complaint of a window being busted out of a vehicle. The victim stated that his vehicle had been vandalized while parked in the 200 block of East Main Street, overnight. And officer investigation showed that the rear glass was busted out of the victim’s vehicle and that the damage was consistent with a BB gun.

June 8

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brittnay Hornschemeier, 30, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Melissa Brunner, 36, of Hillsboro, was arrested for interference with custody.

Bethany Moore, 35, of Washington C.H., was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.
