Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of June 5-11 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 248 911 calls, answered 169 requests for service, dispatched 140 fire and EMS runs, took 30 offense reports and investigated one traffic crash.

A citizen came to the Highland County Justice Center at 12:10 a.m. on June 5 to speak with a deputy about identity theft. Information was collected about the offense and a report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on SR 286 at 6:34 p.m. on June 6 after the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic disturbance. An argument between two females escalated to physical violence resulting in one sustaining visible injuries. Amelia A. Gardner, 22, of Sardinia, was arrested on one count of domestic violence.

At 12:34 a.m. on June 8 the sheriff’s office received a call from a female in the 9000 block of U.S. Route 50 reporting a domestic dispute between herself and a sibling. Deputies interviewed both subjects and arrested Katherine J. Fitzpatrick, of Hillsboro, on one count of disorderly conduct.

The sheriff’s office received a call from the 4000 block of SR 73 on June 9 reporting the theft of an ATV. A deputy was dispatched to the scene at 7:19 p.m. and an offense report was taken.
