Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of June 19-25 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 283 911 calls, answered 188 requests for service, dispatched 127 fire and EMS runs, took 32 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

On June 19 at 6:55 p.m. a citizen contacted the sheriff’s office to report his wallet stolen and his bank card used at locations outside Highland County. A deputy took an offense report and is currently investigating the incident.

On June 19at 8:15 p.m. a female came to the Highland County Justice Center to file a report after discovering her wallet was stolen out of her vehicle. A deputy took an offense report.

A deputy was dispatched to a business on North Shore Drive at 9:16 a.m. on June 20 when an employee called the sheriff’s office to report a male shoplifting. The suspect left the scene in a black car. The property was recovered.

A Barrett Mill Road resident called the sheriff’s office at 1:03 p.m. on June 22 to report his tractor had been stolen. A deputy responded to the scene and an offense report was taken. Several hours later the owner located the missing tractor and the investigation was closed.

On June 24 at 5:15 p.m. a Petersburg Road resident called the sheriff’s office after discovering his barn had been broken into and a 4-wheeler and other items were missing. A deputy was dispatched to the scene where an offense report was taken and evidence collected.
