Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Oct. 9-15 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 314 911 calls, answered 153 requests for service, dispatched 110 fire and EMS runs, took 24 offense reports and investigated four traffic crashes.

The owner of a business on East Danville Road came to the Highland County Justice Center at 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 9 to report receiving a bad check from a customer. A deputy spoke to the complainant and an offense report was taken. A warrant for passing bad checks was filed on the suspect.

A deputy is currently investigating a theft from a residence in the 4000 block of SR 124. The property owner called the sheriff’s office at 7:34 p.m. on Oct. 10 after discovering a package delivered to his home by UPS earlier in the day was missing. An offense report was taken.

On Oct. 11 at 6:51 p.m. a citizen on Wolfe Road called the sheriff’s office to report the theft of a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. Sometime around 4:30 p.m. a male was seen leaving the area on the stolen bike. The registration on the motorcycle is Ohio BKA94. An offense report was taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a Lazy Trail residence at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 15 following several reports of a domestic dispute involving a mother and child. An ongoing argument between family escalated to physical violence and law enforcement was notified. Kristine E. Kinnison, 48, was arrested and charged with one count of domestic violence.
