Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 263 911 calls, answered 122 requests for service, dispatched 125 fire and EMS runs, took 29 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.
At 11:18 p.m. on Nov. 27, Brown County Communications transferred a 911 call to the sheriff’s office from a Fenwick Road residence where a mother and daughter were engaged in a domestic dispute. Deputies were dispatched to the scene where they interviewed both parties and several witnesses. No assault occurred, and no charges were filed.
A citizen came to the Highland County Justice Center at 10:42 p.m. on Nov. 28 to report that a male suspect using her car had refused to return it. A deputy spoke with the complainant and an offense report was taken. An arrest warrant was filed on the suspect for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. On Nov. 29, following an anonymous tip, the suspect and vehicle were located at a Stafford Road residence. Chadley A. Robinette, of Leesburg, was arrested on the outstanding warrant.
Deputies were dispatched to a Heathermoore Trail residence at 6:10 p.m. on Nov. 29 to investigate a domestic disturbance complaint. An argument between a male and female escalated to the point that law enforcement intervention was necessary. Both parties admitted to damaging household property, but neither was assaulted. The male half left, and no charges were filed.
A resident of the 1000 block of SR 247 came to the Highland County Justice Center at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 to report a theft from her residence. A deputy spoke to her and an offense report was taken.
