Highland County Farm Tour a success

0

The second annual Highland County Farm Tour took place Sept 19.

The Farm tour was a joint effort between Highland County Farm Bureau and Highland Soil and Water Conservation District. Over 120 people took part in the event.

The tour consisted of stops at the following locations; Starlite Dairy & Grain Inc., Tom and Janet Shawhan and Family; White Clover Farm, Jim and Sheryl Linne; and Blue Ribbon Farm, John and Sandy Abell.

The tour showcased these beautiful farms and provided useful information on local sustainable agriculture. A box lunch was served during the tour that was prepared by Ponderosa and enjoyed by all.

The Highland County Farm Bureau and Highland Soil and Water Conservation District would like to thank Reed’s Trailer Sales for suppling the trailers, Five Points Implement for suppling the John Deere Gators and Kroger of Hillsboro for donating bottled water to help ensure the event a great success.

Anyone that was unable to attend this year’s event, but would like to be informed of future events can call 937-393-1922 ext. 3 or 1-888-378-2212 to be added to the mailing list.
