Hebenstreits to judge art show

0

The Brush and Palette Art Guild will host its 58th annual Art Show Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 from 1-6 p.m. at Southern State Community College, Hillsboro. The exhibit is located in the atrium.

This 58th year the guild is pleased to have Carin and Robert Hebenstreit as its judges. Carin is a classical artist inspired by the Renaissance masters such as Ruben, Goya and Velasquez. She has been an oil painter specializing in portraits for over 30 years. Her technique has a rare atmospheric quality that incorporates glazing of multiple layers of paint over an underpainting to create luminosity.

Robert is an oil painter with a focus on landscapes, but takes pleasure in creating from still life and the figure. He enjoys a reputation as both artist and teacher. Robert teaches classes in watercolor, oil and acrylics. He received his certificate in fine and commercial art from the William E. Gebhardt School of Art.

The Hebenstreits exhibit nationally and locally.
