The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

ACCIDENTS

On Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 10:10 a.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 100 block of Erin Court. Joseph R Simmons, 49, of Leesburg, was pulling into a business when Helen M. Wright, 66, of Hillsboro, struck the passenger side rear of Simmons’ vehicle.

On Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 12:54 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 300 block North High Street. Mattie B. Pierce, 77, of Hillsboro, was backing out of a parking space, failed to see stopped traffic, and struck a vehicle driven by Dorothy Rhoades, 71, of Hillsboro.

On Monday, Feb. 1 at 3:32 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of South West Street and Uhrig Street. Savannah N. Daniels, 18, of Hillsboro, was traveling southbound on South West Street. Daniels went to make a left turn onto Uhrig Street and failed to see a vehicle driven by Lora J. Ferguson, 46, of Hillsboro, that was setting at a traffic control device. Both vehicles received non-functional damage.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Rickey A. Walls, 46, of Waverly, was arrested for three counts of passing bad checks.

David W. Inman, 57, of Hillsboro, was cited for failure to yield.

Michael M. Campanaro, 39, of Bainbridge, was arrested for criminal trespass, theft, and driving under suspension.

Jeremy M. Cordrey, 33, of Lynchburg, was arrested for failure to appear.

Melissa K. Hendricks, 37, of Hillsboro, was arrested for failure to appear.

John D. Hendricks Jr., 47, of Hillsboro, was arrested for failure to appear.
