Paint Valley ADAMH board members retire

The Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMH) Board met for their regular scheduled June meeting where retiring board members Judy Dixon, Joan Pelfrey and Sue Turner were recognized for their service.

While serving two terms on the board, Dixon has held the office of vice chairperson and has been the board chairperson since 2012. Dixon was appointed to the board in 2007 by the Pike County Commissioners. She is the executive director of the Pike County Outreach Council and resides in Waverly.

Pelfrey served two terms as a member of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board. She was appointed to the board in 2009 by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. Pelfry is a retired alcohol and drug addiction professional and resides in Chillicothe.

Turner also served two terms as a member of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board and has held the office of finance chairperson. She was appointed to the board in 2007 by the Fayette County Commissioners. Turner retired from the Fayette County Board of Developmental Disabilities and resides in Bloomingburg.

Executive director Juni Johnson commented “Judy is a true advocate for those with a mental illness and her leadership will be missed. Joan and Sue have proven their commitment to helping the clients we serve.”
