The Highland County Farm Bureau is sponsoring an evening of educational programs that are open to everyone. This event will be held Thursday, March 24, at Hillsboro High School.

The Hillsboro FFA will assist with hosting the program and the classes will be held in the Agricultural Education Department. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. and the sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be three concurrent seminars where each person can select the one of their choice. The classes will last one hour and will be followed by a short refreshment break. Everyone will then meet in the cafeteria for a one-hour general session.

The three concurrent topics and resource persons are as follows:

1. Forest Management – taught by Brad Wireman, service forester for the Ohio Department of Forestry.

2. Analyzing Your Business Financials – taught by Rudi Pitzer Perry, financial services officer from Farm Credit Mid America; and Wendy Osborn, regional vice president of Farm Credit Mid America.

3. Maple Syrup Production and Processing – taught by Sue Hillger and Sons of Hillger Farm.

The general session will be led by personnel from Ohio Farm Bureau and will include farm policy issues and government programs. Other related topics may be discussed, if time permits.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact the Highland County Farm Bureau office at 888-378-2212 or go on the group’s website.
