Care-A-Van schedule

The Care-A-Van Health Assessment Clinic, a cooperative service brought to you by the Highland County Health Department and the Highland District Hospital, will visit the Walmart parking lot in Hillsboro from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.

Board of Elections official count

The Highland County Board of Elections will hold its official count at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 in the board office. The public is welcome to attend.

Greenfield Choir fundraiser

A Three Spoons Restaurant fundraiser will be held April 6 from 4-8 p.m. in Greenfield. Three Spoons will offer a specialty menu along with its regular menu. Volunteer students and adults will help sell 50/50 raffle tickets and tell people about a silent auction that will end promptly at 8 p.m. Silent auction items up for bid include a spring theme basket with health care items from the Corner Pharmacy; two tickets to COSI; two tickets to Star Cinemas in Hillsboro; a $25 gift card to Community Market; a free oil change from EZ Oil; a basket full of goodies from Jett’s Pro Embroidery; a Roller Haven Fun Pack; tokens from Super Wash; tickets to the Cincinnati Zoo; and more. Proceedss will benefit the Greenfield Eighth Grade Choir.

Greenfield CCCU Spring Revival

The Greenfield Church of Christ in Christian Union will host a spring revival April 6-10 at 7 p.m. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m., Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday evening worship at 6 p.m. The guest evangelist will be Darby Beekman with Casey McDaniels & Family as guest singers.

Baladino at SSCC time correction

Southern State Community College will welcome Mediterranean folk band Baladino Wednesday, April 6, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on the central campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. Please note the event will begin at 1 p.m.; the time had been previously promoted as beginning earlier.

Employee Relations Committee

The Hillsboro Employee Relations Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Hillsboro Firehouse, 204 N. East St., to discuss revisions to the Hillsboro Civil Service Rules. The meeting is open to the public.

Indoor yard sale at senior center

A one-day indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 8 at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center in Hillsboro. Stop and shop or rent a space. Tables and chairs supplied by center. Tables are $10 for members, $15 for non-members. There will be a live band and lunch available for purchase. The center is located at 185 Muntz Street. Paint Creek board meeting

The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District will hold a regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Station 1, 640 N. Washington St., Greenfield.

Catholic Rural Life

The Catholic Rural Life of the St. Martin Deanery will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at St. Mary’s church hall in Arnheim. On the agenda are planning for a Year of Mercy outdoor walk on Oct. 23 at the Brown County Ursulines and a visit to our rural area by a group of young people. The meetings are open to anyone who shares the goals of bringing a Christian perspective to life in rural areas, preserving rural heritage and working to promote dialogue between rural and urban leaders. Harriett Church free meal

The Harriett Church, 3895 Harriet Rd., Hillsboro, invites you to join it for a free meal and fellowship at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 16. Dress is casual. Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, neighbors and friends.

Losse Thread Quilters Show

The Loose Thread Quilters will celebrate its five-year anniversary with its 5th annual Quilt Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Peebles United Methodist Church, 1370 Measley Ridge Road, Peebles. Bed furnishings will be on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be how to make a quilt and one-on-one demonstration, a trucnk show and door prizes every hour.

Running With The Pack 5K

A Running With The Pack 5K walk, run or roll at Liberty Park in Hillsboro will be held Saturday, April 23 to benefit Hillsboro Cub Scout Pack 37. Registration is $25 and begins at 8:30 a.m. The event starts at 9 a.m. Contact Wendy at 937-218-1973 for additional information.

Red Hat Society Spring Fling

The local Red Hat Society will host its annual Hillsboro Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 26 at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center, 185 Muntz St., Hillsboro. The event is for Red Hat members only, but if you are interested in becoming a member you can register at the door for $20. For more information call 937-403-6424.

Candle fundraiser for shelter

The Highland County Homeless Shelter has teamed up with Camelot Farms Candles for an April fundraiser. Orders are due by April 30 and order forms can be sent to [email protected].
