HHS Basketball Golf Scramble
The Hillsboro Basketball team will hold its 5th annual Alumni Golf Scramble on Saturday, August 2 at the Hillsboro Elks Golf Course.
Tee times are available for both morning and afternoon.
The cost is $200 a team and prizes will be awarded. There is also a 10,000 hole-in-one prize. Lunch & appetizers will be provided and there will be a social time after the event.

Greenfield 7th and 8th volleyball tryouts
The Greenfield 7th and 8th grade conditioning and tryouts will be held Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 8th in the New Gym from 8-10 a.m.
All students must have a physical to participate.
Highland County Toys for Tots Cornhole tournament
The Highland County Toys for Tots Cornhole Classic will take place on Saturday, July 26th at 11am at Samaritan Outreach, 537 N. East Street, Hillsboro.
Registration is $30 for teams of two or $15 for one. The single-elimination tournament will feature a cash prize for the winner, OSU cornhole set raffle and 50/50 raffle. Players of all skill levels can leave with a prize. Items donated from area businesses will be awarded at various bracket levels. “Come support this great event and help us raise money and awareness for Highland County’s Toys for Tots program. All money raised stays right here and directly benefits area families in need during the holidays” said local Toys for Tots coordinator and Samaritan Outreach volunteer Becky Barnes.
Come hungry! Samaritan volunteers will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs.

Adams County Fall Basketball League
The 2nd annual Adams County Fall Basketball League will start August 23rd for boys in grades 3/4th, 5/6th, and 7/8th. The cost is $45 a player which includes a t-shirt, and five weekends of games. 8th Annual Community Action Golf Outing
The 8th Annual Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. Golf Outing us coming up on Wednesday, August 27th at the Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield (rain date, September 10th). The 1:00 p.m. shotgun start kicks off a day of great golf, meeting potential business partners and supporting Community Action.
Registration is from 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and lunch will be served from 11:30 until 12:45 p.m.
You can help with the outing in several ways:
Event Sponsor - $1000, Corporate Sponsor - $500, Team Sponsor - $200, Hole Sponsor - $100, Individual Player $50 (Includes green fees, cart and lunch, and donations are gladly accepted.

3rd annual Veterans Golf Outing
The 3rd annual Veterans Golf Outing, hosted by the Hillsboro Elks, will be held Sunday, July 27. There will be tee times at 8 a.m. and noon.
There will be three simultaneous events – a veterans foursome that requires two veterans on each team, an open foursome and an all female foursome. There will also be hole-in-one prizes, closest to the pin, longest putt, and first and second place plaques for each division.

Hannah Losey Memorial Scholarship Softball Camp
The Hannah Losey Memorial Scholarship Softball Camp will be held Monday, July 28 through Wednesday, July 30, from 9am to 12pm at Mitchell Park in Greenfield.
This camp is for girls entering grades three through nine. Cost of the camp is $50 which includes a t-shirt and picture. Applications may be picked up at 320 McClain Ave or 640 Lafayette St. in Greenfield, or by calling John 937-403-8297, Kendra 937-876-9291 or Brenda 937-403-8098. Proceeds benefit the Hannah Marie Losey Scholarship Fund which has currently awarded $46,000 in college scholarships.
The camp is designed to put area girls in touch with some very experienced coaches and athletes. From Wilmington College; Head Coach Beth Floyd, Assistant Coach Tom Purtell and multiple current college softball players will be attending. John Losey McClain Assistant Softball Coach 2000-2001 and Kendra (Losey) Toney Wilmington College 2002 are sponsoring the camp. We are also proud to have on staff, legendary, long-time McClain High School Head Coach John Wend.

Cincy Shock 9U Baseball
The Cincy Shock will be holding baseball tryouts for a new 9U team for the upcoming 2015 season (players cannot turn 10 before May 1st, 2015). They will be playing in the Southwest Ohio League (SWOL) at a competitive level. Tryouts will be held at Odgens Softball Park in Mt. Orab. The dates will be Wednesday, July 23rd from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 26 from 10-12.
