The 8th annual Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. golf outing is fast approaching and still has plenty of spots to fill for both sponsors and teams. The outing takes place Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Buckeye Hills Country Club near Greenfield. The registration for the day will open at 11 a.m.
So far, for this year’s outing, there are 19 sponsors with room for more. However, team spots are going quick.
“We are just beginning to take reservations for teams and hole sponsors and there are plenty of opportunities for your business to be represented at the event as an event sponsor, corporate sponsor, beverage cart sponsor, or prize sponsor,” said Community Action Executive Assistant Ruth Cutright. “We have no limit on the number of sponsors we will take at this time, but we do only have 12 spots left for teams and we anticipate those to fill up very quickly.”
“This is our eighth year holding a golf outing fundraiser at Buckeye Hills Country Club,” Cutright continued. “Each year the outing has grown in both sponsors and teams. All proceeds from this tournament go back into the agency where it is utilized to support the many programs we provide. We have had a great response so far this year and we anticipate these numbers will continue to grow.”
“Our agency provides services in a wide variety of areas to help the residents of Highland County. Some programs are offered only specific times of the year and others come and go,” said Julia Wise, director of Highland County Community Action. “During these difficult economic times, many people may have to turn to our organization for assistance for the very first time. In 2013, we helped over 4,000 families in Highland County.”
While the outing is set for Aug. 27, there is a rain date of Sept. 10. A shotgun scramble time is 1 p.m. Registration fees include the greens fee for 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch provided by All Seasons Catering. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, third place teams and most honest. Door prizes are also going to be given away. Golfers who participate will also win the satisfaction of knowing all proceeds will go back to the organization to help support those being served in Highland County.
