The Hillsboro football team has wrapped up its first official week of practice and head coach Matt Hodge is pleased with what he sees so far.

“Our numbers are up this year and the guys are working hard,” Hodge said on the practice field on Friday night. “We’ve had a good first week and we’re really excited for the scrimmage on Tuesday to see where we are at.”

Coach Hodge knows that his team has a tough schedule this year but thinks that this years’ team could be up for the challenge.

“We have a brutal schedule this year,” Hodge said. “But I this team is better than the one this time last year and we’re working hard to get even better before the season starts. We excited to get started.”

The scrimmage on Tuesday is on the Indians home field in Hillsboro and will pit them against Unioto High School. The game is set to start at 4:30. The Indians will open their season on Friday, August 29 on the road against Western Brown at 7:30.
