The Hillsboro High School golf team has started the 2014 season on a good note, sitting at 4-1 and 4-0 in the South Central Ohio League after a 158 - 180 victory over Clinton Massie on Wednesday afternoon.

Austin Bagshaw once again led the Indians shooting his second even par round of the week. Alex VanZant was right behind with a 38, Travis Wehrung 38, Jacob Deatley 46, Anthony Ventura 47, and Cameron Reed shot a 49.

“It was nice to see Alex and Travis step up today and score well,” said Indians Coach Dan Spidel. “A team score in the 150’s hasn’t happened often in recent years and hopefully it will boost our team confidence and be a sign of good things to come.”

Massie was led with scores from Keith Mineer and Ian Cook with 40 and 44 respectively.

The Indians has a solid start to this season and won a quad match on Monday. Their team score of 165 topped Miami Trace, Chillicothe and host Wilmington.

Their next home match will be on Tuesday, August 19th when they host McClain at the Elks for a 4:30 tee off.
