After a brief layoff because of weather, the Leesburg Babe Ruth team was back in action on Wednesday night. The team played a double headed and were matched up against both Warren Furniture in game one and Classic Realty in game two. They split on the night, winning game one 8-2 and losing game two 3-0.
In game one, Ethan Cornwell went the distance for the Leesburg team, collecting six strikeouts. Jacob Bowman led the team at the plate with a pair of RBI’s. Leesburg out hit Warren seven hits to three.
In game two, Classic Realty’s pitcher Jacob Aber held Leesburg at bay and only allowed two hits while striking out nine, as the Classic team defeated Leesburg 3-0.
Leesburg’s next game is Friday at home when they host McDonalds.
