The Highland County Hammers 13U baseball team recently completed another successful season with a runner-up finish in their league.

The Hammers played in the Central Ohio Youth Baseball League (COYBL) American Silver Division and finished the season with a record of 7-3.

The Hammers played a more competitive schedule than last year, going up against teams in the Southwest Ohio League and Mid-West Ohio League as well as COYBL. They finished with an overall record of 16-14, which included tournaments in Wilmington, Miamisburg, Greenville and Hillsboro.

Hammers coach Joe Buddlemeyer said he’d like to thank the team’s sponsors – Southern Hills Community Bank and Karen and Rodney Rose – for their support the last two years, as well as the village of Leesburg for the use of it ballpark again.

The Hammers will be competing in COYBL again next year beginning in late April to early May and will play a 30- to 40-game schedule including three to four tournaments.
