Plea deals for two involved in fights

Two defendants involved in fights which initially carried charges for inciting violence entered into plea agreements Friday in Hillsboro Municipal Court.Taron O. Captain, 21, of Hillsboro, and Levi Becknell, 18, of Mowrystown, were both a part of an altercation on May 24 in Mowrystown, according to affidavits filed with the court.On that date, Captain and Becknell had been part of a fight involving five men, two of whom told reporting law enforcement that “they had met to fight,” the affidavit states.Captain reportedly had a knife during the fight, and Becknell reportedly “pulled out brass knuckles and a yard rack,” according to the affidavit.


Counseling ordered for Hillsboro woman

Following a no contest plea to falsification, Hillsboro Municipal Court Judge David H. McKenna ordered that a Hillsboro woman enroll in counseling at the Scioto Valley Mental Health Center before a ruling is made in her case.According to an affidavit filed with the court, Shawna Edenfield, 31, reported to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office on July 5 that her children were being held captive by an unknown intruder who broke into their house.
