Updated from original 1:48 p.m. Saturday post.Brake failure led to a wreck on SR 73 near Fenner Avenue in Hillsboro on Saturday.The Hillsboro Police Department said that the driver of a red Chevrolet S10 pickup truck was southbound on 73 when his brakes failed.The vehicle struck a concrete sign base, flipped, and landed in a yard along the roadway, pointed in the opposite direction from which it had been traveling.There were no passengers, and the driver was not seriously injured, police said, although the Paint Creek life squad came to the scene.The accident happened shortly after noon Saturday.
