Health officials in Highland County say they are prepared to take action against the Ebola virus should it strike here, but they’re not overly worried about such an occurrence actually happening.Dr. Jim VanZant, the county health commissioner, said Tuesday that the fears over Ebola in the U.S. are somewhat overblown, stressing that there are no actual cases in Ohio, although some Ohioans are being monitored.“It’s not a real infectious disease,” said VanZant, noting that it can only be spread through direct contact. He said that the three cases identified in the U.S. are mostly health care workers, who were at risk because of their direct contact with patients.
