Arrest made for meth, outstanding warrant

A Hillsboro man who was indicted in August on methamphetamine charges – and who also had outstanding warrants on multiple cases in the Hillsboro Municipal Court – was arrested Monday.According to a news release from the Hillsboro Police Department, an officer went to an apartment complex on Holmes Street at 12:22 a.m. to serve an outstanding warrant on John Mark Ervin, 53.Ervin was found in a closet, where he had been allegedly hiding from the officer, the news release states.Throughout the course of the investigation, the HPD reports that items used to manufacture methamphetamine were located at another apartment complex on North East Street.The items were sent to BCI for drug analysis. Charges are pending.
