McClain defeats WCH in SCOL action

The McClain Lady Tigers softball team defeated the Washington Blue Lions by a score of 16-6 in five innings Monday in South Central Ohio League (SCOL) action.

The Lady Tigers, 4-3 overall, 1-3 SCOL, were hot from the start, scoring five runs in the first inning. The top half of the batting order all reached base and scored in the inning.

In the third inning, the Lady Tigers continued to pile on the runs, scoring seven in the inning to put the game out of reach.

The Lady Tigers went on to score two runs in both the third and fourth inning for the final difference.

The Lady Tigers were led by Senior Chantel Landrum and Freshman Kaylee Stevenson. Landrum finished the night with three hits, three runs scored, and six RBI. Stevenson was equally impressive with two hits, three runs scored, and four RBI.

The Tigers baseball team was also in action Monday, beating the Blue Lions by a final score of 10-9 in eight innings.

The Tigers were led by Senior Jay Beatty who finished with three double base hits, a stolen base, and three RBI.

McClain will be in action again on Wednesday travelling to face SCOL and cross-county rival Hillsboro.
