Hillsboro travels to Marietta College for district track and field; Hart to regionals

The Hillsboro Lady Indians track and field team traveled to Marietta College to participate in the Div. I combined East and Southeast district tournament.

Jaeleigh Hart qualified for the regional tournament placing third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.69. Hart was the lone regional qualifier for the Lady Indians.

Several other Lady Indians that competed in the tournament are; the 4×800-meter relay team, Aidan Chaney and Emma Hess in the 100-meter hurdles, Leah Womelsdorf and Lauren Brown in the 100-meter dash, the 4×200-meter relay team, Ellie Howland and Sam Bullock in the 1600-meter run, the 4×100-meter relay team, J. Hart and Paige Howland in the 400-meter dash, Hess and Womelsdorf in the 300-meter hurdles, Molly McCreary and E. Howland in the 800-meter run, Kenzie Adams in the 200-meter dash, Keeley Schurman in the 3200-meter run, the 4×400-meter relay team, Kailey Dietrick and Sarah Workman in the discus throw and shot put, Hess and Lucy Hart in the high jump, L. Hart and Brown in the long jump, and Ellie Elmore in the pole vault.

Coaches for the teams in the district track and field tournaments provided the names of the competitors and were allowed to enter a maximum of two athletes in each event.

J. Hart will advance to the regional tournament with the preliminary round scheduled for Wednesday May 24 at Pickerington High School North starting at 6pm for the running events. The regional finals, should Hart qualify, are scheduled for Friday May 26 and will be help at the same location and start time as the preliminary round.
