Highland County Board of DD Unified Special Olympics slow pitch softball tournament

The Highland County Board of DD will host a Unified Special Olympics slow pitch softball tournament this coming Saturday, August 19. The tournament will start at 9:30am at Liberty Park. Highland County, Fayette County, Fairfield County, and Madison County will be the teams participating in the tournament. The tournament is open to the public and admission is free.

Highland County Community Action Organization 11th Annual Golf Outing

The Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. will host their 11th Annual Golf Outing on Friday, August 25th at Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield. Registration will open at 11:00 a.m. Registration for individual players will cost $50. There are plenty of opportunities for your business to be represented at the event as an event sponsor ($1000), corporate sponsor ($500), team ($200), hole ($100) or prize sponsor.

Prospective sponsors and players can pick up and return registration forms for the event at the Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. offices in Hillsboro or they may call the offices at 937-393-3458 to register by phone. Players or sponsors may also visit https://hccao.org/ to obtain a copy of the registration form. The deadline to register for the event is August 21.

Shotgun scramble time is 1 p.m. Registration fees include the greens fee for 18 holes of golf on the beautiful course, a cart and a lunch (11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.). Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd place teams and most honest. Great door prizes are also going to be given away. 13th annual Community Care Hospice Angel Care Open Sept. 29

Registration is now underway for the Community Care Hospice Angel Care Open golf outing.

This marks the 13th year for the annual shotgun scramble event to benefit patients at Community Care Hospice. The event begins with registration and breakfast at 7:45 a.m. at the Majestic Springs Golf Club, 1631 Todds Fork Road, Wilmington. The cost is $100 per player or $80 per player for teams of four who are registered and paid by Sept. 8.

The event includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, field events, an auction and awards presentations for longest putt and drive contests and a closest to the pin challenge.
