Hillsboro High School tennis preview

The Hillsboro High School Lady Indians tennis team started their season on August 11 with an away match against Clinton-Massie. The team will play a total of 15 matches on the season. The last regular season match of the year is scheduled for September 26 at Hillsboro High School against the visiting team from Unioto.

The team is coached by longtime Hillsboro tennis coach Larue Turner.

Tennis is not a strong sport for the Lady Indians who have finished at or near the bottom of the league for several years.

The team will play two matches against former South Central Ohio League member Clinton-Massie in what will no doubt be a time for many associated with the program to reflect on the changes that have happened in the last year.

The team is also looking forward to the opening of new courts located in front of the high school. The old court was recently built but was in need of repair after it was discovered that the ground was beginning to erode under the court.

The courts should be finished in short order and allow the girls tennis team to hold matches there before the end of the season.
