The McClain Lady Tigers volleyball team traveled to Southeastern High School on Wednesday to take on the Southeastern Lady Panthers and the Portsmouth-Clay Lady Black Panthers in a tri match.

The Lady Tigers took on Portsmouth-Clay in the first match. McClain fell in straight sets to the Lady Black Panthers 8 – 25 and 13 – 25.

For the match the Lady Tigers were led by Liz Kegley who was 5 – 5 serving with one ace, Chayden Pitzer 5 – 7 hitting with five kills, and Macie Adams who completes 19 of her 23 passes in the match. Taylor Butterbaugh and Pitzer each had two solo blocks in the match and MaKenzie Montavon was 22 – 26 serving.

Next up for McClain was the Lady Panthers of Southeastern. The Lady Tigers didn’t fare much better against the girls from Southeastern as they lost in straight sets 15 – 25 and 12 – 25.

McClain was led by Pitzer who was 9 – 9 serving with four aces and had two kills in four attempts. Adams led the way again going 16 – 21 on passes, Hunter Scott had two solo blocks, and Montavon was 13 – 15 setting.

“Both teams are pretty good teams. Southeastern won a district championship last year in their division. It was good playing both teams and showed us what areas we need to work on.”, McClain coach Taylor Alsop said after the game.

The Lady Tigers will be in action again on Monday August 28 when they host the Peebles Lady Indians.
