Hillsboro’s boys golf team finished their season on Oct. 5 at Crown Hill Golf Course in Williamsport where the Indians competed in the D I Southeast district sectional golf tournament. The Indians finished in seventh place after shooting an overall team score of 438 and did not qualify for the district tournament.

Head coach Nathan Boatman said, “We are young. It was a good learning experience for our young golfers in the sectionals. I will be working with our young golfers to mold them into better golfers for next season.”

Will Kiefer, a junior, led the Indians in the tournament as he shot a 100 for the day. Kiefer was the top golfer for Hillsboro all season and Boatman expects that he will be much improved next year.

Freshmen Gavin Puckett and Gabe MyCroft were next for the Indians with scores of 107 and 113 respectively. Sophomore Hayden Miller rounded out the scoring for the Indians as he shot a 121. Hillsboro was also represented at the tournament by sophomore Ryan Harless who finished with a 128 on the day.

The Indians expect to return all the golfers from this years team and Boatman thinks the team will be greatly improved for the 2018 season.
