State champion pole vaulter Austin Goolsby commits to the University of Cincinnati

Hillsboro High School senior, Austin Goolsby, signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Cincinnati next year. He will be majoring in Exercise Science.

Austin is the defending Division II State Champion in pole vault and holds the Hillsboro High School record in pole vault (16’2”) and long jump (22’6”). He also participated in the state track and field championships in 2016 in the pole vault finishing as the State runner-up.

Austin follows in the footsteps of former Hillsboro teammate Jeremy Hayton who is currently attending UC and is a member of the track and field program at the university.

Austin was joined by the University of Cincinnati track & field jumps coach, Sam Kranz, his parents, Greg & Laura Goolsby, as well as, several of his Hillsboro coaches and friends & family.
