The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs volleyball team played their second game in as many days on Thursday night. It was the third of four games they play this week. Thursday night they were on the home court of the Fairfield Lady Lions for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference match up.

The Lady Mustangs were coming off a tough loss to the McClain Lady Tigers on Wednesday night, where they were out in front two sets to none and McClain was able to come back and win three straight sets to win the match.

Thursday was a bit different, as the Lady Mustangs swept the Lady Lions in three sets. The Lynchburg girls handled the first set easily, winning 25-11. In the second set, the Lady Lions hung in longer but LC was able to win that one in the end with a 25-18 final. In the third set, the points went back and forth a majority of the match, all the way up to a score of 16-16. The the Lady Mustangs went on a 9-3 run and won the final set 25-19 to win the match. The Lady Mustangs (12-5) will finish off a week of four games in five days when they travel to Peebles Friday, September 30. The Lady Lions, who will also be playing their fourth game this week, will host SHAC opponent Whiteoak High School on Friday night as well.
