Lady Indians ready for 2015

The Lady Indian volleyball team has sort of a new face around the court this year in eighth year head coach Nicole Dickey. She was the head coach of the Lady Indians for seven years prior to 2013 season but is back and ready to go in 2015.

The Lady Indians have eight girls on the team this year and half of those are seniors (Emily Myers, Emma Reno, Madison Snyder and Kerstin Thornburg). They have one junior in Taylor Remsing, one sophomore in Corrine Ray and two freshman, in Sydney Bobbitt and Jordan Williamson. Coach Dickey looks for three girls from last year to lead the team going into the 2015 season.

“Emma Reno, Madison Snyder and Taylor Remsing are three girls returning from the varsity squad last year,” said Dickey. “These girls will lead us in and out of games and I feel like the rest of the girls really look to all three of them for different aspects of the game.

“This is an amazing group of girls and I feel like, if we play the way we are capable of playing, that we can do very well this year.”

The Lady Indians have already won the annual Spike and Dig Tournament held this past weekend by beating defending champion Whiteoak in the first round and the McClain in the championship.
