The Lady Lions soccer team of Fairfield High School hosted the Lady Wildcats of Blanchester on Monday night and were bested by a score of 7-1.

Blanchester collected five of their goals in the first period, one right at the halftime buzzer. The final two came in the second period.

Carly Arnold collected the only goal for the Lady Lions with 3:12 to go in the second half.

“Thankfully we’ll have a a couple days to practice this week,” said coach Sam Spargur after the loss. “We haven’t had a practice to work on things since last Monday. We had four games last week.

“Carly [Arnold] stood out for me tonight and has been standing out lately. She had our only goal of the night in this game and is grinding it out no matter what.”

The Lady Lions will host Washington on Thursday for their next matchup.
