Mustangs still unbeaten

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs basketball team improved its record to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference with a big win over Eastern on Tuesday night with a final score of 69-47.

The game was close after the first quarter as the Mustangs only edged out the Warriors by four points after the first eight minutes, 16-12.

A big second quarter from Lynchburg, where they dropped 28 points and held Eastern to 11, took them into the half up 44-23.

The second half saw the pace slow down some, as the Mustangs narrowly won the third by a score of 10-9 and then they played even with the hosts the last quarter, tying them 15 to 15, bringing the final score of the game to 69-47.
