McClain hosts second annual wrestling duals

0

The second annual McClain Duals took place on Saturday. Instead of wrestling the junior high and varsity on two separate days like last year, both tournaments ran simultaneously in one day on three mats. Nine junior high teams and nine varsity teams filled the stands for some very good wrestling from local and ‘not so local’ teams.

The Greenfield Middle School was able to capture the team championship by going 4-0 on the day, beating the Wilmington Hurricanes in the finals. Jackson was able to pick up the third place trophy by defeating Whitehall in the final round.

The McClain High School varsity team improved their record on the season by finishing in fourth place and going 2-3 on the day. Despite winning or tying in individual matches in all five matches, including going 4-3 in actual matches wrestled against the eventual champion from Caldwell, McClain couldn’t overcome the forfeits in their lineup.
