The Clinton Massie Lady Falcons and host McClain Lady Tigers went head to head for a win on Wednesday night. McClain was able to pull out on top with a score of 42-30.

McClain took the lead from the get-go, leading after the first quarter 10-7

Falcons fought hard in attempt to take back the points they had lost in the first quarter outscoring the Lady Tigers 12-10. The McClain girls led 20-19 at the half. Although McClain fell short in the second quarter, they came back after halftime to wrap things up, scoring 11 in the third and fourth quarters to win the game 42-30.

“We pulled away big,”said McClain Coach Jarrod Haines.

“We controlled the ball and controlled the tempo. McClain is built from a young team, not having any seniors, so they’re still learning and growing.”

The Lady Tigers play again against Wilmington, Saturday January 9.

In reserve action, Clinton-Massie defeated McClain 30-22.

Sydney Leary led the Lady Falcons with 9 points, 7 of those in the opening quarter as the Lady Falcons grabbed an 11-10 lead.

Ashlie Miller had 6 points and Kendall Cloud and Madilyn Newton scored 4 points each. Faith Cottrell had 3 points. Emily Ireland and Brook Britain had 2 points each.
