Indians blast Tigers late for 17-5 victory

The Hillsboro Indians faced off against their rival Greenfield-McClain on Wednesday night and thanks to big sixth and seventh innings where they scored a combined 10 runs to beat the Tigers 17-5.

The Indians jumped out early scoring three runs in their first at-bat and one more in the second inning to make it 4-0. The Tigers were able to close the gap a bit in their half of the first making 4-1. They got the game even close in the second inning scoring twice bringing the score to 4-3. Hillsboro score again in the third inning making it 6-3 while the Tigers added another to their tally in the third as well to make it 6-4. Hillsboro added once more in the fifth making it 7-4. Hillsboro’s first big inning came in the top of the sixth where they blasted away for five runs and then matched that in the seventh with another five. The Tigers were never able to chip away at the lead throughout the game and were only able to muster up a single run in the final inning and the final score came to a Hillsboro win 17-5.
