The Whiteoak High School baseball team swept their weekend series with Emanuel Christian Academy this Saturday getting wins of 2-0 and 6-2.

In the first game of the double-header it was a good old fashioned pitcher’s duel in which Jacob Burns was the winner for the Wildcats. He went all seven innings, giving up a single hit and striking out three batters. He also led his team at the plate with a 1-for-2 effort and also scored. He also had a triple to bring in the first run of the game.

In game two, the Wildcats were again led by Burns at the plate, this time going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Chase Carraher, Kyle Marler, and Trevor Yeager also contributed one hit a piece with Carraher and Yeager getting one and two RBIs respectively.

On the mound in game two, Evan Brill picked up his first win going the distance, giving up five hits and two runs, neither earned, and striking out a total of seven batters.

The Wildcats will be back home on Tuesday, April 20 when they host a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game with the Manchester Greyhounds. That game is set to start at 5 p.m.
