Highland District golf outing

The Highland District Hospital held its Annual Highland District Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament on June 18 at the Hillsboro Elks. Once again, the community proved that it is committed to the foundation by raising over $11,000 on the day.

That support is needed as the Foundation spearheads the GreatER Care Campaign to raise $1.5 million, over five years, to contribute to the expansion of the existing Emergency Department at Highland District Hospital. All of these proceeds will go directly to the GreatER Care Campaign, which has already reached pledges of over $500,000.

Players in the golf tournament faced several obstacles throughout the course, including hitting shots into a small boat in the middle of the pond, and male players dressing up like women in order to gain advantage on their tee shot, and teeing off from the women’s tees. Both of these events, as well as the generous contributions from sponsors, players and volunteers is what helped make the event such a success.

The winning team was Team Prince, which showcased players Brett Prince, Jereme Dill, Christ Fauber, and Rodney Donley.

The hospital plans to break ground in July on the expanding Emergency Department. The Foundation efforts to raise money will continue throughout the year, including the raffling of a John Deere Gator, donated by Five Points Implement Company Inc., on December 10th, at their Annual Hospital Foundation Holiday Ball. To purchase tickets for a chance to win the Gator, please contact Cathy Jones at (937) 393-6360, or visit the hospital gift shop.
