GEVS holds special meeting to close fiscal year


With the 2015 fiscal year coming to a close within the coming week, the Greenfield Exempted Village Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Wednesday for approval of appropriations.

Among the fiscal matters approved by board members were the final 2015 appropriations as well as appropriations for 2016. All transfers and advances for 2015 were also approved.

The 2016 fiscal year begins on July 1.

Board members also approved employee recommendations, which are as follows: Matt Shelton, middle school assistant principal; Lindsey Burkhart, high school science; Jessica Gilliland, middle school intervention specialist; Abby Roe, first-grade teacher at Rainsboro Elementary.

The next regular meeting of the school board will be held at 7 p.m. July 20 in the central office boardroom. The meeting is open to the public.
