Helicopter called for crash

A MedFlight helicopter was called to the scene of a late morning crash Tuesday on SR 124, just east of Marshall.

According to Paint Creek Public Information Officer Branden Jackman, the call for the crash came in at 11:32 a.m. He said that the crash involved one vehicle containing two occupants.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Buchanan said the driver, identified as Ronald Leon Humphrey, 25, Hillsboro, was ejected from the vehicle and later care-flighted with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was identified as Richard Brannan, 20, Hillsboro.

Buchanan said Humphrey was driving a Ford Escape northbound on SR 124 when the vehicle veered off to the right, came back onto the road, and then rolled over.

Buchanan added that the incident is still under investigation and that no citations have been issued at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, Paint Creek EMS, and the Marshall Township Fire Department all responded to the scene.
