Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 1

On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6:40 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North High Street and Fenner Avenue. Michael E. Sellers, 61, of Hillsboro, was stopped at a traffic control device when Sellers vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Timothy J. Mottie, 20, of Hillsboro. Mottie was cited for failure to file for registration and assured clear distance ahead.

On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 5:05 p.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the 100 block of Harry Sauner road. Christy Hale, 35, of Hillsboro, was westbound on Harry Sauner. Hale was stopped in traffic waiting on a vehicle to turn into a local business when her vehicle was truck in the rear by a vehicle operated by Richard Johnson, 65, of Lynchburg. Johnson was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

On Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1:56 a.m. the police department received a report of a male subject yelling and what sounded like banging on the walls at an apartment located at 100 block of Taylor Drive. Upon officer’s arrival it was found that Anthony T. Cox, 28, of Sinking Spring, was intoxicated and punched and kicked holes in the walls of the upstairs hallway then fled on foot upon officers’ arrival. Cox was located in a wooded area and refused to stop running after the police officer gave commands to stop. Cox returned later and tore the fire extinguisher and mailbox off of the wall then fled on foot again. An officer staged in the area observed Cox return again and he was apprehended in the stairwell to the apartment complex. Cox was arrested for obstructing official business and criminal damaging.

Timothy Snider, 20, of Sardinia, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Christopher S. Karaffa, 31, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension.

Jacklynn M. Wooten, 32, of Piketon, was cited for driving under suspension.

Dustin A. Washburn, 23, of Greenfield, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Kamala D. Knisley, 34, of Peebles, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Charles H. Wireman, 25, of Peebles, was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Amber L. Evans, 29, of Hillsboro, was arrested for failure to appear.

Kyle Denise, 23, of Blanchester, was cited for expired plates.

Justin M. Denise, 28, of Hillsboro, was arrested for failure to appear.

Brandy L. Knauff, 36, of Leesburg, was arrested for failure to appear.

James Newsome, 29, of South Salem, was cited for driving under suspension.

Robert Wetters, 41, of Hillsboro, was cited for expired plates.

Donald M. Walker, 32, of Hillsboro, was cited for disorderly conduct.

Justin M. Conley, 35, of Sabina, was arrested for failure to appear.

Ernest L. Ward, 66, of Springfield, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Michelle L. Kelly, 44, of Hillsboro, was arrested for domestic violence.

Jesse H. Underwood, 47, of Hillsboro, was arrested for domestic violence.

Rebecca L. Harris, 20, of Sabina, was arrested for failure to appear.

Dennis L. Treadway, 35, of Hillsboro, was arrested for failure to appear.

Michael A. Campanaro, 39, of Annandale, Va., was arrested for two counts of failure to appear.
