This contest has helped many members become more open with with others and more involved in the community. Lana Grover, Attie Johnson and Kirsten Harp also participated in the subdistrict contest. In the Extemporaneous Speaking Contest, Hillsboro had Kaleb Harp participate and he placed third at subdistricts. In Advance Prepared Speaking, Meredith Oglesby participated and placed second at subdistricts, which moved her on to districts where she placed second again. Oglesby then moved on to the state competition where she place fifth with her speech on Farm to Fork, or Farm to Landfill. Pictured are Johnson, Harp, Kelly, Grover, and Oglesby at subdistricts.
