Richard J. Luschek II will be the judge for the 59th annual Brush and Palette Art Guild show the weekend of June 25-26 from 1-5 p.m. both days at Southern State Community College Central Campus in Hillsboro.
Luschek graduated from the University of Cincinnati with Bachelors degrees in Biology and Fine Arts. He then studied art for three years at the Paul Ingbretson Studio of Drawing and Painting in Manchester, New Hampshire learning a combination of solid academic drawing, brilliant light effects, vibrant color and overall unity. On returning to Cincinnati, he taught at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the University of Cincinnati, and privately in his own studio. One of his portraits is in the permanent collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum. He is a Signature Member of the Cincinnati Art Club and one of the select artists in the Greenacres Artist Guild in Indian Hill. His website is www.richardluschek.com.
One of the highlights of the Brush and Palette Art Guild annual show is the judges’ critique that will take place Saturday afternoon. Luschek will walk through the show explaining why certain art pieces earned ribbons and answering questions about what could be improved for others. This is a learning experience for guild members as well as visitors to the show.
Artwork from both professional and non-professional members will be for sale along with a chance to bid on the silent auction. Light refreshments will be served. Admission and parking are free. For further information call 937-393-4193.
