The Fairfield High School Lady Lions volleyball team hosted Peebles High School on Monday night for their annual “Volley for the Cure” game. The Lady Lions made the game go all five sets but couldn’t pull through in the final set and lost three sets to two to their Southern Hills Athletic Conference opponents.

In the first game, the Lady Indians of Peebles kept control of the game almost throughout and won the set 25-21. In the second set, the Lady Lions traded points with their opponent throughout but pulled out the 25-20 win to tie the game at 1-1. Throughout the whole night, neither team could get a big lead on the other as the two teams traded points for points. In the third set, it was back and forth during the whole set but the Peebles team won in the end 25-22. In the fourth set, Peebles was looking to win to keep the game going to a fifth set but the Lady Lions fought hard and won the set with a final of 25-20. In the fifth and final set, Peebles had the upper hand from the beginning and won the set 15-8, winning the game in total 3-2.

The Lady Lions will pley their next game on the road against Eastern Brown High School on Tuesday, October 11 and their final game will be Thursday of this week at home, which will also be senior night. That game will be against Fayetteville.
