Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 24

INCIDENT

At 5:47 p.m. it was reported to police department by a couple from the 100 block of West Josie Avenue that their son was stealing money from them. During an officer investigation, it was found that David E. Bailey, 33. of Hillsboro, was allegedly stealing money from his parents. Bailey was arrested and charged with theft and theft beyond the scope.

March 1

ACCIDENTS

At 12:53 p.m., the police department responded to a crash in the 100 block of East Walnut Street. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Charles Powell, 31, of New Vienna, operating a 2010 Ford Sedan, pulled out of an alley onto East Walnut Street and struck, Terry L. Conway, 67, of Beavercreek, operating a 2016 Chevrolet truck. There was a full-sized pick-up truck parked near the alley which obstructed the view of Powell. This was confirmed by the investigating officer. Powell was cited for driving without a valid operator’s license.

At 1:51 p.m. the police department responded to a crash at the intersection of Beech and High streets in the southbound lane. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Bridgett L. Skaggs, 53, of Bainbridge, operating a 2014 Chrysler van, failed to observe traffic was stopped and struck the rear of Ashley N. Dearth, 25, of Seaman, operating a 2002 Pontiac Sedan.

March 6

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Candace Allen, 34, of Lebanon, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Courtney Case, 22, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Brittany Taylor, 34, of Washington C.H., was arrested for unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine. Joshua Vandemark, 37, of Sabina, was arrested for violation of a protection order.

March 7

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Seth Saxour, 28, of New Vienna, was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments and on a bench warrant.

March 8

INCIDENTS

At 2:06 a.m., the police department responded to a report of a male that had overdosed in the 800 block of West Main Street. During the investigation, 32-year-old Tiffany M. Barnes, of Hillsboro, was found to be in possession of drugs and a drug abuse instrument. Barnes was arrested and charged with second-degree misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments and fifth-degree felony possession of drugs schedule I or II substance. Barnes was transported to the Highland County Jail.

At 9:29 a.m., thepolice department responded to a report of a male subject waiving a gun at another male subject in the 400 block of East Main Street. Upon further investigation, Joshua T. Evans was arrested and transported to the Highland County Jail. He was charged with fifth-degree felony retaliation and first-degree misdemeanor aggravated menacing.

ARRESTS/CITATIOSN

Sue Steward, 52, of Greenfield. was arrested on a bench warrant.

Derrick Clarkson, 30, of Felicity, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Jonathan Dykes, 54, was cited for failure to yield.

Cynthia Bray, 55, was arrested for possession of drugs schedule I or II substance.

March 8

INCIDENT

At 8:26 p.m. the police department responded to the 500 block of North High Street after receiving a complaint of menacing. After investigation into the matter Devin Lee Robinson was arrested for menacing. Robinson was also found to be in possession of marijuana at the time of arrest and was also charged for possession of marijuana.

March 9

INCIDENT

At 10:06 a.m. the police department responded to the 100 block of Uhrig Street for a suspected drug overdose. A male subject was transported to the Highland District Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Rachel Grooms, 28, of Hillsboro, on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Jamie Michael Hawes, 37, of Hillsboro, attempted illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine.
