McClain students clean up Greenfield

McClain High School students and staff participated in the third annual MHS Day on Monday morning, improving various parts of the town. Groups were assigned by homeroom, with students choosing their community service projects. The service assignments included cleanup of 14 vacant lots, work on the outside of two properties owned by elderly residents, cleanup at the historic graveyard and the cemetery, two car washes that will benefit a local charity and the McClain bust fundraiser, washing police cars and firetrucks, bike path cleanup, cleanup at Felson Park, development of an information tour for those visiting Greenfield’s historic sites, outside cleanup at Greenfield Area Christian Center, trash cans painted and flowers planted at Mitchell Park, parking signs repainted and weeds pulled on campus, graffiti coverup on a bridge, mulching and flowerpot cleanup around town, litter pickup around town, as well as fun activities and the “Senior Sendoff” in the afternoon.
