Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Dec. 11-17, the sheriff’s office received 257 911 calls, answered 149 requests for service, dispatched 121 fire and EMS runs, took 44 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

On Dec. 12 at 10:39 a.m., a citizen on Sinking Spring Road called the sheriff’s office to report a theft. The victim came to the Highland County Justice Center a short time later and spoke to a deputy about the crime. An offense report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

The sheriff’s office received a call at 11:44 a.m. on Dec. 12 reporting a domestic disturbance at a Paint Township residence. Deputies responded to the scene on Valerie Drive and interviewed the parties involved. Michael D. Maynard, 62, and Rozena E. Maynard, 57, were both arrested and charged with one count of domestic violence.

At 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 13, the sheriff’s office received several calls from an Edwards Road residence reporting a domestic disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to the scene to investigate. Jessica M. Flint, 22, was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant from Hillsboro Municipal Court. No other charges were filed.
