Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of April 30 to May 6, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 281 911 calls, answered 151 requests for service, dispatched 155 fire and EMS runs, took 29 offense reports and investigated one traffic crash.

At 10:30 a.m. on May 1 a Miller’s Chapel Road resident came to the Highland County Justice Center to report a theft. A deputy spoke to the complainant and an offense report was taken.

On May 2 at 8:07 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a call from a residence on Neal Road reporting a domestic disturbance. Deputies responded to the scene and interviewed all parties involved. Neither person reported being assaulted and the male half left for the remainder of the evening. No charges were filed.

The sheriff’s office received a call from the 13000 block of Wyatt Falls Court at 2:33 a.m. on May 6. The caller reported a male subject was sitting on his front porch claiming he had been assaulted at a nearby residence. Deputies were dispatched to investigate. Several people in the area were interviewed and it was determined that no assault had occurred. No charges were filed.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 11:21 p.m. on May 6 reporting a male subject overdosing at a residence on SR 136. Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the residence. The patient was transported via ambulance to Highland District Hospital where he was treated and released. The male was then arrested on an outstanding bench warrant from Hillsboro Municipal Court and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
