Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Feb. 17-23, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 285 911 calls, answered 120 requests for service, dispatched 124 fire and EMS runs, took 30 offense reports and investigated four traffic crashes.

On Feb. 19 at 12:31 a.m. a citizen at Rocky Fork Lake called the sheriff’s office to report a domestic assault. Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Beechwood Lane and arrested Richard L. Noland, 49, on one count of assault and one count of domestic violence.

At 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 19 deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of SR 124 to investigate a domestic dispute complaint. All parties involved were interviewed, but neither wished to file charges. There were no signs of violence or physical injury. One of the parties left to avoid further conflict.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 2:12 a.m. on Feb. 20 from a residence on Wizard of Oz Way at Rocky Fork Lake. The caller awoke to find an unknown male subject inside the bathroom of the home. A male resident confronted the subject and physically removed him from the residence. Deputies located the suspect a short distance away in a wooded area and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to the Highland County Justice Center. Charges are pending.

A Larrick Road resident called the sheriff’s office at 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 21 to report a domestic disturbance. A neighbor came to the caller’s residence requesting he call law enforcement after she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Deputies interviewed both parties and witnesses, an offense report was taken. Caleb R. Davis, 28, was arrested on one count of domestic violence.
