Elks Child Golf Clinic

The Hillsboro Elks will host its annual free Child Golf Clinic on Saturday, June 19. The clinic that includes a golf tournament is open to ages 5-18. The golf clinic will run from 9-11 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will have registration at 11:30 a.m. and a start time at noon. Children play free with a paying adult. Call the Elks pro shop at 937-393-3047 to preregister for either event. Lunch, drinks and prizes will be provided.

Veterans Golf Outing

The 10th annual Veterans Golf Outing (Sgt. Morris “Moe” Newton Memorial) will be held Saturday, July 10 at the Hillsboro Elks. There will be three simultaneous events — Veterans Open Foursome (with at least two veterans on a team), Open Foursome and Coed Foursome (with at least one male or female on a team). Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. There will be a memorial service at noon honoring deceased members of the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard. The entry fee is $200. There will be skins, hole prizes, a 50/50 raffle, closest to the pin, longest putt, first and second place awards, a chilic cookoff and food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages provided.
